While most people relate themselves to the fun-loving, always-happy Spongebob. But underlying the lighthearted comedy, the show tells us are actual real-life issues and other conspiracy theories. That scene always creeped me out.The show Spongebob is portrayed as a very lighthearted show with sea creatures living a normal life like us. I don't like Squid's Visit and that scene only cements it. Not to mention that the line has no point and doesn't move the plot along and isn't even funny. Squidward has always been a pompous guy that loves himself, and when he says that line. It's just really hard to watch. And this is the one and only time that has ever happened. Nevermind the fact that the episode has completely butchered SpongeBob's character at that point- It seems to suggest that Squidward begins to doubt himself. I also am creeped out a bit by this line in Squid's Visit: "He copied all 492 of my self portraits!. Is it this happiness that clouds his judgement to the point that he can't understand that Squidward just doesn't like him? I'm probably reading way too much into the episode, but the implications it brought up by the scene where Squidward shrieks at the two in Good Neighbors never sat right with me. The fact that SpongeBob and Patrick have no idea how they make Squidward feel until he goes insane and just snaps has always kinda freaked me out- It was something that went against the core element of the show and took a look at the opposite side of SpongeBob's happiness. I'm sure there are a few.Įpisodes don't really scare me, but Good Neighbors reveals and puts a new spin on the Squidward-SpongeBob-Patrick dynamic that has always kind of scared me, I guess. I would like to hear episodes that scared you. The fact that a character could be so downright evil, is really what scares me from this episode. One Coarse Meal: The messed up relationship between Krabs and Plankton, and how much of a monster Krabs is, really is what scares me. Still, I cannot sleep soundly after watching that episode. ![]() Especially the breakdown from Squidward, that freaked me out. Squid's Visit: The scariest episode of the show, bar none. Not a fan of Squidward's house coming alive, that freaks me out. Good Neighbors: Really sadist endings scare me, and this one is no exception. I quite liked that, but I really didn't like much else from the episode. inSPONGEiac: A really trippy dream sequence. Face Freeze: The faces are a bit creepy. ![]() Still, the episode does kind of give me the creeps. Squidward in Clarinetland: I quite like this episode because the trippy scenes are like a combination of Courage the Cowardly Dog and LSD, with a little bit of Regular Show thrown in there, even though the only thing that had come out at the time of the episode was the pilot, which I hadn't seen yet. It also doesn't help that I hate the episode. Boating Buddies: The creepiness of Spongebob's breathing really got to me in this episode. Had they toned down the scariness of the episode, maybe I would have liked it more. I thought the episode had a good premise with not too good execution. Ghost Host: The whole scene with the Dutchman trying to scare Spongebob freaks me out. These are some episodes that really scare me. When I was 5 or 6, none of the episodes scared me, but had you shown me some of the episodes from later seasons, I may have gotten nightmares. Have there been any episodes of the show that just freak you out? There have been quite a few for me.
